Cabin Counsellor

Camp Kirk is a small overnight camp for children who have Learning Disabilities, AD/HD, and High Functioning Autism. We strive to build resilience and self-esteem in our campers by providing a supportive, nurturing, and non-competitive environment.

The role of Cabin Counsellor is an important one at Camp Kirk. Counsellors are responsible for the emotional and physical well being of the campers in their care, and they are the foundation of a camper’s support system while at camp.

In tandem with a co-counsellor, individuals hired for this position are expected to create a nurturing and supportive environment that meets the specialized needs of individual children, as well as groups of campers.

Co-counsellors are assigned a different cabin group each session, therefore there is the possibility to work with any and all ages groups.

The dates of employment run from June 18th until August 28th. All staff members reside at camp and Room and Board is provided over and above the salary. The summer salary for a first year staff member is $3000.
