Night Watch

Camp Kirk is a small overnight camp for children who have Learning Disabilities, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and/or other types of exceptionalities. We strive to build resilience in our campers and raise self-esteem by providing a supportive, nurturing, and non-competitive environment.

Dates of employment: June 29th- August 25th, 2018
Salary:  $14.00/hour
Hours: 12:00 midnight- 6:00am

Job Description
In tandem with a partner, the individual hired for Night Watch will be responsible for overseeing the entire camp during the nighttime hours. Specific duties include:
  • Cabin Checks: checking in on each cabin group every 45 minutes, and attending to the needs of campers who may be awake.
  • Cleaning Duties: cleaning the washrooms and sweeping the dining hall
  • Overseeing and supervising the camp grounds & buildings
NOTE: Our Night Watch do not live on-site. We are looking to hire local residents who are capable of commuting to and from camp each day.

Job Requirements
  • Dependable, punctual and a team player
  • Previous experience working with children is necessary
  • Previous experience working with individuals with exceptionalities is an asset
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
  • CPR(C) and First Aid
  • Must be 19+ years old by June 1st
